7 Popular YA Books That I Haven’t Read Yet

7 popular ya books that I haven't read yet!

Hello my fellow little munchkins! How are you all doing? I am doing well. I am going out with my Nana into town today. I am thinking that we may even end up at a book store so I might try and get a couple of the books that I will mention below

Let me know which ones should be higher up on the priority list of books that I need to buy compared to others that I don’t need right at the moment. Or let me know if I should go on a binge buy! (Hopefully not because ouch my wallet!)

Anyways why don’t we get into this little book post already?!

Shatter Me

10429045.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, I have a curse
I have a gift

I am a monster
I’m more than human

My touch is lethal
My touch is power

I am their weapon
I will fight back

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

The reason for why I haven’t read this book yet is because I haven’t really heard much about this book. Not because it isn’t really REALLY hyped everywhere bookish but because I haven’t really been seeing that much stuff during the time that I am on social media about it.

Another reason for why I haven’t read it yet is because the author is already books deep into the series and at this current moment in time I cannot afford to buy that many books so I am waiting until the last book comes out and I have saved up enough money to buy it.

Plus with my TBR ever growing it doesn’t help that I have to move around the book priorities. But this definitely is a book series that I am thinking of picking up when I am at the library I just have to set aside time to do that as well.

The Cruel Prince

26032825.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, ” Of course I want to be like them. They’re beautiful as blades forged in some divine fire. They will live forever.

And Cardan is even more beautiful than the rest. I hate him more than all the others. I hate him so much that sometimes when I look at him, I can hardly breathe.

Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

As Jude becomes more deeply embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, she discovers her own capacity for trickery and bloodshed. But as betrayal threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

I acutely do have this book. Only this one not the Wicked King, yet. I have been planning on reading this but I just have never actually sat down and continued reading it. It probably didn’t help that when I tried to read it the first time I was in the middle of a reading slump so I never got back to reading it due to being afraid that I would end up in a slump once again.

However, with everything that I have heard about this book and Wicked King, I think I will try re-reading it again soon!

The Hazel Wood

34275232.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, ” Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: her mother is stolen away―by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: “Stay away from the Hazel Wood.”

Alice has long steered clear of her grandmother’s cultish fans. But now she has no choice but to ally with classmate Ellery Finch, a Hinterland superfan who may have his own reasons for wanting to help her. To retrieve her mother, Alice must venture first to the Hazel Wood, then into the world where her grandmother’s tales began―and where she might find out how her own story went so wrong.”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

So when I first started writing this post I had feeling that I had started reading this book already and apparently I did! I started it when I started the Cruel Prince but I never fully got into the book like I should because I was deep into my reading slump at that point.

I feel like this is a really talked about book and I kinda want to know why but at the same time I am trying to bust through my ARC TBR because that is my main priority at this point. Especially since there was a little over 40 books in that pile and I’m almost through at least 10 of them which makes me feel really good about myself.

Queen of Air and Darkness

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

This book I haven’t read yet is because I really just haven’t been buying that many books and each time that I was looking at buying this book it was at least 25$ for this one not including the other book that needs to come with it and paying 50$ while being in high school is a lot of money and not something that I can afford right now which has in there made me wait to read this book.

The reason why I want to buy all these books is because I want to add more towards my collection because my dream is to one day have a house with bookshelves everywhere and I know that I wouldn’t buy the book if I read it from the library so I see it better for me if I hold off a little from reading the book so that I can buy it!

To Kill a Kingdom

34499221.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, “Princess Lira is siren royalty and the most lethal of them all. With the hearts of seventeen princes in her collection, she is revered across the sea. Until a twist of fate forces her to kill one of her own. To punish her daughter, the Sea Queen transforms Lira into the one thing they loathe most—a human. When he rescues a drowning woman in the ocean, she’s more than what she appears. She promises to help him find the key to destroying all of sirenkind for good—But can he trust her? And just how many deals will Elian have to barter to eliminate mankind’s greatest enemy?”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

So, I am not going to lie to you all and tell you that about two hours before I started writing this post did I even hear about this book. Then I decided to look is up and see how the ratings of it were and if it was controversial and then came to see many upon MANY reviews so thats kinda the reason why I even started writing this blog post and I mean I REALLY WANT TO BUY IT! PLUS LOOK AT THE COVER! ITS GORGEOUS!!!!!

Sawkill Girls

38139409.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, ” Beware of the woods and the dark, dank deep.

He’ll follow you home, and he won’t let you sleep.

Who are the Sawkill Girls?

Marion: the new girl. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Weighed down by tragedy and hungry for love she’s sure she’ll never find.

Zoey: the pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Maybe she’s broken—or maybe everyone else is.

Val: the queen bee. Gorgeous and privileged, ruthless and regal. Words like silk and eyes like knives, a heart made of secrets and a mouth full of lies.

Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires.

Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight… until now.”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

This is another book that I didn’t hear much about until this past week which is also really surprising to me since it seems like such an interesting and mysterious read. I ended up looking it up on Goodreads obviously and saw that it didn’t have that many reviews which kinda confused me because in one hand it says its a well known popular book but then there isn’t as nearly many reviews and ratings for this book compared to others. But hey the content of the reviews is much more important towards the quality of it!

Girl Made of Stars

31351689.jpg

Description according to Goodreads, ” I need Owen to explain this. Because yes, I do know that Owen would never do that, but I also know Hannah would never lie about something like that.”

Mara and Owen are about as close as twins can get. So when Mara’s friend Hannah accuses Owen of rape, Mara doesn’t know what to think. Can the brother she loves really be guilty of such a violent crime? Torn between the family she loves and her own sense of right and wrong, Mara is feeling lost, and it doesn’t help that things have been strained with her ex-girlfriend and best friend since childhood, Charlie.

As Mara, Hannah, and Charlie navigate this new terrain, Mara must face a trauma from her own past and decide where Charlie fits in her future. With sensitivity and openness, this timely novel confronts the difficult questions surrounding consent, victim blaming, and sexual assault.”

There reason for why I haven’t read the book yet!

SOOOOOOOOOO, I may kinda already have had this book for well over a year and it was at the very bottom of my ARC TBR since last year and then I lost it and found it and then put it back to the very end of my ARC TBR making it a read that I should have read a LONG TIME AGO, but never have. Which is completely on my part and also being moved up within the ARC TBR right now!

lets-chat-2

Have you read any of these books? Do you recommend any of these books? What was most enjoyable about any of these books that you have read? Do you have any reviews on these books? Is there a specific one that you recommend more than another?

  1. I loved the Cruel Prince, but would VERY MUCH recommend waiting for Queen of Nothing to be released, as WK ends on a huge cliffhanger! It’s due to release in November. Great post, and have fun out in the town!
