Hello my fellow little munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing well. Just really happy that today is finally Friday so that I can hopefully get some sleep this weekend. I didn’t fully finish writing this post and forgot that I already pre-set it so I have made some edits in case you have already read it, you may now want to read it again. Specially in the review section.
Anyways, why don’t we get into the book review?
Author: Josie Jeffrey
Genre: Paranormal, Dystopian, Young Adult, Fantasy, Fiction
Publishing date: July 12, 2017
According to GoodReads, “ If the price of safety is slavery, would you bargain your life?
A Bargain in Silver is book one of Josie Jaffrey’s Solis Invicti paranormal romance series, set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic London.
A deadly infection threatens to wipe out humanity. The only people who can stem its advance are the Silver, a vampiric race who offer a simple exchange: protection in return for blood and subservience. It’s not a deal that Emmy’s willing to make, but as her world burns around her she finds herself in the arms of the enemy and the line between oppressor and saviour begins to blur.
After an attack by the infected, Emmy is rescued by the handsome Drew who introduces her to the world of the Silver. Desperate to escape subjugation and confused by her attraction to him, she gathers what remains of her surrogate family and plans to make a break for freedom.
But despite her efforts to resist, she is drawn further into the intrigues of the mysterious Silver through the agency of their ruler, the Primus: Solomon. Emmy refuses to submit to the cold and detached Primus and an attempt on her life makes it clear that he is unable to protect her from the political machinations of his race.
As the connection between them deepens she must choose between her desire and her will to rebel, but can she trust his intentions when everyone is after her blood?”
The characters were pretty amazing but my favorite would most likely have to be the main character, Emmy. She was sarcastic and witty but not too much that it becomes annoying or even just overused. She was also smart which was something that I heavily appreciated because I have read some books where the main characters, who are girls, are portrayed as idiotic.
The plot was wonderfully constructed in terms of not being too cliche but also not being completely out of the world that you cannot understand it anymore. I honestly really enjoyed it due to how unique it was but along with how it all flowed smoothly. On the topic of flowing smoothly I believe that the pacing was set amazingly.
There was a few tropes such as a love triangle, which you all know that I don’t necessarily care for, but the way it was executed was almost as if there really wasn’t a full love triangle so that all worked out in the end for me personally.
Where to Buy the Book:
Information about the Author:
According to GoodReads, ” I have always written stories, but it wasn’t until I started the first book in the Solis Invicti series in 2014 that I really became obsessed with writing. I love to read, particularly where the escapism of the story is enhanced with an element of fantasy or science fiction. For me, writing is simply an extension of that journey, but I get to decide what happens next (though it’s amazing how often the characters seem to decide for themselves what I’m going to write!).”
Where to find the Author:

Back in the Blue, Julia’s old tormentor Rufus is hounding her at every turn. She’s sick of feeling powerless, but she has a plan that will bring the Nobles to their knees.
All she needs is blood.
