Behesians by Isaiyan Morrison Review (Spoiler Free!)

Hello my fellow little munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing well. I have been up to a lot in terms of school work but I am still staying ahead of the blog posts like I originally planned and I am so grateful that it is working out.

I am planning on taking two community college classes this semester on top of my full high school schedule that already has APUS, AP English 3 and AP Human Geography. So while I am staying ahead right now I may end up getting behind in the future and if I do I just want to let you all know that I am honestly trying my best to post amazing content frequently.

Anyways, why don’t we get into this review already?

 Behesians (Behesians #1)
by Isaiyan Morrison
Genre: Paranormal
Age category: Young Adult
Release Date: December 6, 2018

From tragedy comes destiny.

Cassidy is a 17-year-old girl being raised by her father in San Diego, California. Her existence is a mixed blessing, full of life but burdened with the knowledge that her mother died while giving birth to her. Her mother’s absence constantly weighs on her mind, but she trusts her loving father to protect her like he’s always done.

Until the day that she discovers the truth.

Cassidy is a Behesian – born with dark magic and the ability to do extraordinary things – and it was her mother’s parting gift to her. She’s not the only one out there and her dark gift makes her the strongest one alive. However, her father has kept her talents a secret, but not for her peace of mind. He works for The Brotherhood, a secretive organization that tracks and studies supernatural people… and his daughter is the perfect test subject.

She finally realizes the crucial decision she faces: either stay with her father, the only family she’s ever known – or join her new Behesian brethren in the ultimate fight for survival.

Behesians is a thrilling Young Adult novel about the choices we make and who we really are. Author Isaiyan Morrison crafts this compelling tale of self-discovery against a backdrop of magic, wonder and fate. Because when the true meaning of family gets lost between the lines, sometimes the only way forward… is through your heart.

The plot of the book was one of the best aspects of the book in my opinion. I love how it was a mix of both Paranormal Fantasy and Romance while all being a Young Adult book, and doing it successfully. That was the key point in my opinion of why this book was so addicting to read.

The main character, Cassidy, was my favorite character compared to the rest due to how I felt that we got to know her the best. Her character development from the beginning of the story to the end was personally my favorite part due to how her eyes were really opened to the world.

The pacing was amazing and kept on track. By that I mean that when it was needed to speed up at a fast action scene it did, and when there was a emotional scene it slowed down to create suspension.

I loved the world building in this book due to how it is for the most part different from others due to how it didn’t just information dump in the first couple of chapters. There was information given throughout the book in a good amount so it never felt overwhelming or underwhelming at any point.

4/5 stars
