The Study of Silence (Lady Evelyn Mystery #3) by Malia Zaidi Book Blitz

Hello my fellow little munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing okay! I am currently writing a essay for my college class so wish me luck on finishing quickly. I haven’t done much this weekend. Have you? What is the weather like where you are at? It hailed yesterday but today it is all sunshine so I am now sad. I love gray, cold, rainy skies and I am sad that they are all gone.

Anyways why don’t we get ahead to this blog post.

Title: The Study of Silence (Lady Evelyn Mystery #3)
Author: Malia Zaidi
Genre: Mystery
Format: eBook, Paperback, Hardback
Pub Date: 27th February
Can be read as a standalone: Yes
Blurb: Lady Evelyn Carlisle has returned home to England, where she is completing her degree at St. Hugh’s, a women’s college in Oxford. Her days are spent poring over ancient texts and rushing to tutorials. All is well until a fateful morning, when her peaceful student life is turned on its head. Stumbling upon the gruesome killing of someone she thought she knew, Evelyn is plunged into a murder investigation once more, much to the chagrin of her friends and family, as well as the intriguing Detective Lucas Stanton.
The dreaming spires of Oxford begin to appear decidedly less romantic as she gathers clues, and learns far more than she ever wished to know about the darkness lurking beyond the polished veneer. Can she solve the crime before the killer strikes once more, this time to Evelyn’s own detriment?

  • This is the third book in the Lady Evelyn Mystery and even though it can be read as a standalone I suggest that you read the rest of the series to get all of the hidden details that you missed and would understand the book series 0.00000001% more.
  • I loved reading the character development in this story along with the plot development.
    • What I mean by this is I loved reading how the story progressed as a whole especially since it is a mystery and I don’t have that many good experiences with this genre.
  • The setting of this book was greatly enjoyable as it wasn’t stared in America which it seems like most of the books now a day are and is rather stared in England during the 1920s.
  • The writing of this story was a great joy to read yet when it came to certain lines of dialogue it felt like it went flat which was a disappointment.
  • The mystery as a whole was enjoyable but felt a little to far-fetched at moments.
    • There was certain times when the things that were happening and the secrets were being told felt a little to non-reallife which was something that I was disappointed at.
  • In conclusion, this book was enjoyable and quick read but it wasn’t a re-read type of book.

I give this book 3/5 stars.
