QUOTE WEDNESDAY- V.E. SCHWAB

Hello my little munchkins. How are you all doing? I am doing okay. I almost forgot about todays quote Wednesday but then I remembered so, yeah. That is my crisis of the day. Today it finally stopped raining where I live which kind of makes me happy and kind of makes me sad because I love the rain I just don’t care about getting drenched in it. I watched the whole entire show of Dark on Netflix on Sunday and I highly suggest that you all go watch it because it is amazing and plays with your mind and then ending is even better and it’s just amazing, but make sure to use subtitles because it it in german.
Anyways, why don’t we get ahead to the post?

Please read with caution as these are quotes from several of V.E. Schwab books and it contains spoilers towards that book.

“I’d rather die on an adventure than live standing still.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

“I’m not going to die,” she said. “Not till I’ve seen it.”
“Seen what?”
Her smile widened. “Everything.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
“I apologize for anything I might have done. I was not myself.”
“I apologize for shooting you in the leg.” said Lila. “I was myself entirely.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
“She bent most of the rules. She broke the rest.”
V.E. Schwab, A Gathering of Shadows
“Sure I do,” countered Lila cheerfully. “There’s Dull London, Kell London, Creepy London, and Dead London,” she recited, ticking them off on her fingers. “See? I’m a fast learner.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
“Love and loss,” he said, “are like a ship and the sea. They rise together. The more we love, the more we have to lose. But the only way to avoid loss is to avoid love. And what a sad world that would be.”
V.E. Schwab, A Conjuring of Light
“Anoshe was a word for strangers in the street, and lovers between meetings, for parents and children, friends and family. It softened the blow of leaving. Eased the strain of parting. A careful nod to the certainty of today, the mystery of tomorrow. When a friend left, with little chance of seeing home, they said anoshe. When a loved one was dying, they said anoshe. When corpses were burned, bodies given back to the earth and souls to the stream, those left grieving said anoshe.

Anoshe brought solace. And hope. And the strength to let go.”
V.E. Schwab, A Conjuring of Light

“But these words people threw around – humans, monsters, heroes, villains – to Victor it was all just a matter of semantics. Someone could call themselves a hero and still walk around killing dozens. Someone else could be labeled a villain for trying to stop them. Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.”
V.E. Schwab, Vicious

“You know so little of war. Battles may be fought from the outside in, but wars are won from the inside out.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic
“As Athera. To grow.

As Pyrata. To burn.

As Illumae. To light.

As Orense. To open.

As Anase. To dispel.

As Hasari. To heal.

As Travars. To Travel.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

“Crime isn’t that complicated. People steal because taking something gives them something. If they’re not in it for the money, they’re in it for control. The act of taking, of breaking the rules, makes them feel powerful. They’re in it for the sheer defiance. Some people steal to stay alive, and some steal to feel alive.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

“You must be immune,” said Rhy. Alucard looked down at his hands, considering the scars that traced his veins. “And to think, all I had to give up were my good looks.” Rhy managed a ghost of a smile. “I rather like the silver.” Alucard raised a brow. “Do you? Maybe it will start a trend.” Kell rolled his eyes. “If you two are done,” he said, “we should show the king.”
V.E. Schwab, A Conjuring of Light

“Power in Balance. Balance in Power.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

“The rich strutted around, assuming they’d be safe, so long as they stayed in the good parts of town. But Lila knew there were no good parts. Only smart parts and stupid parts, and she was quick enough to know which one to play.”
V.E. Schwab

“Scars are not shameful,” said Ojka, “not unless you let them be.” The knight straightened. “If you do not wear them, they will wear you.”
V.E. Schwab, A Conjuring of Light

“People steal because taking something gives them something. If they’re not in it for the money, they’re in it for control. The act of taking, of breaking the rules, makes them feel powerful. They’re in it for the sheer defiance. Some people steal to stay alive, and some steal to feel alive.”
V.E. Schwab, A Darker Shade of Magic

“People could only hurt you if you cared enough to let them.”
V.E. Schwab, A Gathering of Shadows

“He suffered,” added Athos softly. “But not like you.” He brought his mouth closer. “No one suffers as beautifully as you.” There it was, in the corner of Holland’s mouth, the crease of his eye. Anger. Pain. Defiance. Athos smiled, victorious.”
V.E. Schwab

“It was better not to care—Lila tried not to care—but sometimes, people got in. Like a knife against armor, they found the cracks, slid past the guard, and you didn’t know how deep they were buried until they were gone and you were bleeding on the floor.”
V.E. Schwab, A Conjuring of Light
