I JUST WANT

Publishing Date:ย April 4, 2017:

Description according to GoodReads,Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad’s old costume, Elle’s determined to win – unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons – before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake – until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.”

REVIEW:

  • FIRST OF ALL I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK SO MY EMOTIONS ARE GOING CRAZY ATC 47653869704756927054736487468787678757487 MILES PER HOUR AND IF I DON’T MAKE SENSE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHY.
  • The writing in this book was elegant and flowed perfectly.
    • There was never a point where I had to question the:
      • Grammer
      • Dialogue
      • Names
      • e.t.c.
  • The world building in this book was beautiful.
    • Yes, some of you may be rolling your eyes because how can there be world building to a contemporary book but I SWEAR THERE ALWAYS IS AND THIS BOOK DID IT PERFECTLY.
    • As we found out about the fandom that was what the book was centered around the book the author was able to keep on giving us snippets of information throughout the book without overloading us and sticking to the main plot.
  • THIS BOOK WILL MAKE YOU CRY.
    • I WENT INTO THIS BOOK LIKE, “OKAY THIS IS GONNA BE A SWEET LITTLE CONTEMPORARY AND THEN AS I GOT FARTHER INTO THE BOOK ALL I WAS DOING WAS YELLING AT THE BOOK ITSELF (Don’t judge) AND I WAS SOBBING FOR LIKE 3O MINUTES AT TWO DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME BECAUSE THIS BOOK WILL KILL YOU BUT IN A GOOD WAY.”
  • THE character development was AMAZING.
    • As we went through this story I hated a couple of characters and one of them pulled a complete 180 and I was so happy about that.
    • I thought that one character was a certain person and as we got farther into the story he started to change which literally made me cry tears of joy.
    • The main character changed and blossomed and I was so happy about that.
    • The side character, Sage, was my favorite and will most likely always be.
  • THIS IS 10000000000000% A BOOK ABOUT NERDS AND GEEKS.
    • FIRST OF ALL IF YOU DON’T CONSIDER THIS A BOOK FOR NERDS AND GEEKS THAN I DON’T THINK WE JUST READ THE SAME BOOK.
    • SECOUND OF ALL THIS ALL STARED AROUND A FANDOM SO YEAH.
    • THIRD OF ALL THIS BOOK LITERALLY SCREAMS FOR NERDS AND GEEKS OF ALL KINDS TO COME AND READ IT.
  • The romance in this book literally killed my heart.
    • It wasn’t overwhelming but it was definitely a major part of the book but it didn’t over shine everything else that was going on in the book which was amazing.
    • THE AMOUNT OF FLUFF THAT WAS INSIDE THIS BOOK LITERALLY KILLED ME.
    • I HAVE A NEW OTP BECAUSE OF THIS BOOK.
    • The romance did happen a little to fast but at this point I really don’t care.
  • The Retelling of Cinderella in this book was ๐Ÿ˜ย ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜.
    • I mean this book is called GEEKERELLA so you know there is gonna be some cinderella retelling in this book.
    • It was beautifully retold in this geeky fashion as it had me hating the stepmother and one of the stepsisters, yet the other stepsister grew on me as she changed.
    • aAND THE BEST PART WAS THAT THE PUMPKIN WAS THE VEGAN TRUCK AND THAT HER FAIRY-GODMOTHER WAS SAGE AND LIKE MWHAHAHAHAAHAHAH *TURNS INTO UGLY SOBBING*
  • DARIN WAS JUST OMG. I CAN’T EVEN DESCRIBE IT.
    • HE WAS THE BEST GEEKY AMAZING LOVE-ABLE DORK IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND I WISH I HAD ME ONE.
    • He is so cute and he is like nervous 672358971426795 days on 745387538 hours and everyone thinks he is some hot guy who is in it for the sex and the money but all he wants to do is be one of the characters who he always looked up to while having twenty crisis at the same time.
  • I wish that some of the EVIL people were more on the male spectrum and less on the female spectrum but I saw why it had to be like that.
  • In, CONCLSUION IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CUTE ENJOYABLE QUICK READ THAT WIL KILL YOUR HEART AND CONSUME YOUR LIFE AND MAKE YOU CRY THEN THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD READ NEXT.

I GIVE THIS BOOK 5/5 STARS.ย
